Local Projects: Cotton Textile Projects With A Total Investment Of 3.5 Billion Yuan Landed In Urumqi

On May 13, Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone (Toutunhe District) and Xinjiang Investment Development (Group) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Xintou Group") officially signed an investment agreement. Xintou Group will plan to build a 1 million spindle cotton spinning project in Bainiaohu District of the Economic and Technological Development Zone (Toutunhe District), with a total investment of 3.5 billion yuan.

The 1 million spindle cotton spinning project signed this time will adopt the internationally leading intelligent spinning production line, integrate automation and digital technology, and build a full process intelligent factory. After the completion of the project, it will provide more than 3000 jobs and drive the upstream and downstream supporting industries to form a cluster effect.

Hu Jinsong, secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of Xintou Group, said, "The economic development zone (Toutunhe District) is chosen this time because of its superior geographical advantages, perfect industrial supporting facilities and high-quality business environment. The project will give full play to the advantages of state-owned enterprises, take intelligence and greening as the core, and drive Xinjiang's textile industry to move towards high-end."

Zhou Chen, secretary of the Urumqi Economic Development Zone (Toutunhe District) Committee, introduced that the Economic Development Zone (Toutunhe District) has set up a special working group at the first time to provide full cycle services around procedures handling, element guarantee, policy support and other links, so as to ensure early commencement, early production and early effectiveness of the project.

As a national economic and technological development zone, Urumqi Economic Development Zone (Toutunhe District) has focused on the construction of "one port and five centers" in recent years, and continuously optimized the industrial layout. The implementation of this project will help Xinjiang to transform its cotton resource advantages into industrial advantages on the spot, extend the textile industry chain of Urumqi, and enhance the added value of products.
